About the music
After leaving the military I came home and hit the ground running. I had made music before I went to the army and when I didn’t reach the goals I had set for myself I went the military route. Almost immediately after I left the Cleveland music scene blew up due to the successes of Ray Cash, Chip Tha Ripper, and Al Fatz opening up doors that weren’t available before. So when I got home I wanted to cover lost ground quickly and put my name among the elite in my city.
The first single “Get Fly” featuring Bam Bam was an instant hit. Get Fly was the first song I ever had played on radio, hearing myself on Z 107.9 was almost unreal. I do remember one time myself and DJ One getting in my car heading to get something to eat and heard Get Fly, I figured I had left the cd in but when I pressed the eject button it was still playing…I was being spun on the radio. Other hits on this project included “Float Away” featuring J-Curse and “Dynomite” featuring Doxx which is my favorite song from the project.
I was attempting to catch the crowd with this project, although I did receive a lot of attention for my effort and quick hustle, I didn’t get the reaction I was looking for mainly due to watering down my sound to fit the crowd. All in all “MeetESQ.com the mixtape” did well and promoted the launch of my website as it made its debut.
